Sewing Machine cover
Made a new one, the other one was too small so I gave it to my mom who just happens to love RED!!! WIN WIN!!!
Ok so I made this out of extra fabric, so yes its orange, oh well at least--I wont lose it ha ha
I made a flower for this one too. He seems kinda lonely though?
My favorite part is the rick rack I sewed to the bottom I used my special Zig Zag foot that has a 1/4" ribbon feed to keep the rick rack in place as you sew and I love it!!!
Can you see the little whole at the bottom?

Sewing Machine Cover
I started with a yard of material.
1. measure your fattest parts of your sewing machine.
mine measured 13"high 16" wide 6" deep (until I finished it and realized my removable arm wasn't on and its 8" oh well)
2. fold it in half and cut a piece (using the fold)15" by 23"
keep the fold on the bottom and cut the side the 23" and the top 15" you get a piece 23" by 30"
keeping it folded sew the sides together right sides facing.
3. Then lay it back out. Cut the folded side corners 3" on each side like this.
4. Then pull the straight edges together and sew like this.
5. Then fold the bottom over to hem it. I folded it and didn't like the raw edge on the inside so I folded it twice and sewed all the way around. That's it you have a perfectly boring cover. :)
6. I thought it was too boring so I bought a gathering foot and made some flowers to sew on to it. I just used the gathering foot on a leftover 1 in strip and twisted it. and then hand sewed it on.

Sewing Machine cover
I know its kinda boring but its better then
1-leaving it out or
2- using the ugly white plastic cover that came with it.

It took all of 5 lines to stitch together (2 sides, 2 corners, one hem) and about an hour with ironing and cutting and sewing.

Embroidery samples
Ok I tried some stitches for fun.
The top is a blanket stitch, the next 4 are just fun stitches. The last row I did a couple different stitches in the same row. The first part is a triple stitch (does 3 stitches in each spot), the next is a slant stitch for knits, feather stitch, then a hand look quilt stitch. Not sure if I like them all but I tried then anyway.

Sewing is so much better when you have a good sewing machine!
Today Jason bought me a new sewing machine! I love it and I love sewing again. Well Quilting really! I started my bag project again and my machine works great! I love the stitches and the extra long table arm and the drop in bobbin and how quiet it is (everyone was watching tv while I was working) and everything. Anyone need something sewn? Or quilted? hee hee hee
Jason could even tell how excited I was and took some extra time to work on his motorcycle since I was so busy. ha ha

Woo Hoo! I actually have a project to blog about!!!
Ok so I haven't wanted to do anything recently. But Monique came over and wanted to fix so clothes and bed skirts. So I fixed the bed skirts while she fixed the clothes. Then she started the stockings I wanted to finish for Christmas...um 2 months ago....so I am actually doing those now too. If my machine doesn't stop working. It worked fine the entire time I was fixing Monique's stuff. But as soon as I start MY projects it acts up. So I have decided my sewing machine has a mind of its own and only likes to do service for others and not for me....
